Russian icon gallery Tóth Ikonen is located in Huizen in the Netherlands, 30 km east of Amsterdam. The gallery is open by appointment only.
Tóth – Ikonen was founded in 1974 by József and Corrie Tóth, themselves passionate collectors of icons who decided to establish their own gallery. From 1980 to 2013, Tóth – Ikonen was located in the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat in Amsterdam. The gallery is now based in Huizen, The Netherlands. Since 1995, the next generation has continued József and Corrie’s passion. Ferenc was inspired by his parents to follow in their footsteps. His wife Christel, an art historian, joined the business in 2000. In the years since then, they took over the gallery, ensuring its continuity and further development. Ferenc and Christel are now responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, for art historical research relating to objects in the collection, and for writing both books and catalogues.
Tóth Ikonen participates in the prestigious art fair TEFAF Maastricht (since 1996) and PAN Amsterdam. Tóth Ikonen is member of the Association of Fine Art Dealers in the Netherlands KVHOK and CINOA.
