32. Christ the Saviour

Description:
Christ is depicted as Saviour, or Pantocrator.

Christ, represented viewed from the front, makes a blessing gesture with his right hand. The position of the fingers held in blessing has a symbolic meaning: the two raised fingers refer to the two natures of Christ, divine and human, while the three fingers folded together symbolise the divine Trinity.

In his left hand he is holding an open Bible.

The text ‘Gospodj Vsederzitel’, ‘Lord Almighty’, is written above both shoulders.
